Untangling the Final Rule: Shedding light on the FY 2024 Final Rule

The SNF FY 2024 Final Rule is here! This brings big changes to the SNF Medicare Part A Perspective Payment System (PPS), Quality Reporting Program (QRP), and Value-Based Purchasing Program (VBP) for 2024 and future fiscal years.

CMS has adopted new QRP and VBP measures, removed measures from QRP, replaced a measure under VBP, and made policy changes to VBP.  In addition, CMS will begin public reporting on the new QRP Transfer of Health Information measures with the October 2025 refresh.  Many of these changes correspond to data elements on the new MDS v1.18.11.
