Therapy Cap Exception Process Reinstated
The president has signed into law (HR 4691) a temporary reinstatement of the Therapy Exception Process valid thru March 31, 2010. Among other aspects of this bill the physician rate cut (which includes Part B therapy rates) scheduled to go in effect 3/1/09 also remain frozen at 12/31/09 levels through the end of March. This “stop gap” was put into place in order for Congress to craft a more permanent solution to these perennial problems.
