Sheryl Rosenfield Selected as CMS Trainer

Zimmet Healthcare Services Group, LLC (“ZHSG”) is pleased to announce that Sheryl Rosenfield, our Director of Clinical Services, has been invited to participate in the Minimum Data Set 3.0 “Train the Trainers” program presented by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”) in April. She will be part of the AANAC Master Training team attending these critical workshops in Baltimore. This continues her involvement in the implementation of the revised assessment instrument, as she assisted CMS with “chapter edits” during development.

The MDS 3.0 is scheduled for implementation on October 1, 2010, concurrent with the new RUG-IV payment classification system. Due to the volume and complexity of these changes Sheryl and other ZHSG clinical consultants will begin providing facility-based training programs during July 2010. In addition, “MDS 3.0 for the Management Team” will be a featured session during our August conference in Atlantic City.

Despite the natural anxiety that accompanies such important changes, we stress that education prior to July will prove counterproductive, as facility staff will not be using the actual assessment until October. Thereafter, ZHSG will present ongoing facility-specific trainings, in addition to regional AANAC certification programs starting in the summer 2010.

Please check our website or call our office for training dates or more information on MDS 3.0 and RUG-IV implementation and developments.
