New York State Supplement - Section S MDS 2.0 (2008)
Below is the link to NYS Supplement S instructions effective for 10/1/08 for all assessments (copy and paste into your browser). We have received numerous inquiries about MDS 3.0 training. Please note MDS 3.0 is a draft document. CMS has not issued a final version of the MDS 3.0 nor has CMS released completed training materials or software program specifications. National associations are still commenting on the proposed form and have raised concerns about the costs, training and crosswalks necessary for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
There may be many changes coming in the year ahead! We recommend that facilities continue to concentrate on the accuracy of MDS 2.0 completion and wait until CMS issues official policy on this or other assessment forms.
